Is not a regular CEO like in a company but is a big name and people relate to that.

You're right @ravid but still perceptions count - and Dan Larimer is a big name in crypto so him walking away from a project is bound to raise doubts over it with some people in Joe Public regardless of it's fundamental soundness and potential.

Dan Larimer to bitshares is like Satoshi to bitcoin. Nakamoto is not involved anymore - do you see btc struggling in any way?
I get what you are saying - it adds to people's doubts, but there's nothing we can do about it. People rely on rumors too much for investment advice and then surprised they lost everything

There is talk of it merging with EOS as well.....but none of that matters. A new big name could walk in and blow Dan out of the water.....news is news is news, and it doesn't change the scenario it's going to play out. Maybe Dan leaving is the news that some people were waiting for to get in...we don't know, that's why it's not taken into account in the EW counts and chart pattern recognition.

Dan Larimer didn't walk away; he merely started the project so he could move forward to new things. The team that bitshares is stays in contact with Dan. Dan also created Steem and cares much about these platforms. But an artist has to move on from his works for something new.

Foolish to call it art, which (mostly )has century-old and longer antipathy to the utility that is the prime motive for craft. NOTHING has ever come from the art world that could directly transform the entire world, conceivably saving (or at least preventing the premature and unnecessary loss of) many, many lives, that the application of STEM, especially the math/CS part, in such a crafty way as Dan & company's work...
