Today, various types of programming languages are used to create a software. But in the old days, the number of existing programming languages is still limited. And one of the programming languages that has been developing for a long time since 1964 is BASIC, precisely on May 1, 1964.

And now, the programming language has officially celebrated its 50th anniversary. This language was first developed by John G Kemeny and Thomas E Kurtz from Dartmouth College, Hannover, New Hampshire, USA. Two creators of this programming language is a professor in mathematics.

In the 1970s and early 1980s, this programming language also experienced developments. Especially in this time span, personal computers go on sale in the market and many people are starting to build programs to run on the computer. One of them is Paul Allen with Bill Gates who at that time founded Microsoft. Both also created a new version of BASIC called Altair BASIC.

But now BASIC began to be abandoned by the programmer. Especially after Microsoft introduced the Windows operating system. Even so, there are still a handful of people who still want to keep learning this programming language so as not to erode the times.
