You can waste an awful lot of life waiting around for the cool part to start. This isn't a book or a movie. If you have a roof, food and someone who loves you, that IS the cool part.
If it won't bother you in a month, don't let it bother you now.

The world starts where your comfort zone ends.
Lower your expectations and expect nothing of people. You'll be a lot happier that way.
Take advantage of time with your parents, they won't be around forever.
Not everyone is a good person, and it's better to let those people leave your life.

Life and people evolve and change. Sometimes, there's just some things that will never be the same, no matter how badly we want them to be. Appreciate what you've had, what your opportunities ahead may be, and ACCEPT that you may never be there again. Do it gracefully if you can.
Nobody cares what you were thinking; they care what you did.
Don't burn a bridge until you're sure you're never crossing it again.
If you are constantly having to fight then you're going the right direction.
