The Tether Mystery - Is it the next Mt. Gox?

It may perhaps be old news, or something that is completely wrong but there is now a 1billion+ mystery at the heart of the worlds largest Bitcoin exchange.

I and many others were around when Mt. Gox went cataclysmic... and thus hyper vigilance is seared into our brains. Is Tether another disaster waiting to happen?
