Forfeit your Bitcoin? US Congressional Bill S 1241

in #bitcoin8 years ago

A group of US lawmakers wants to see cryptocurrency holdings declared at the nation's border. US Congressional Bill S 1241 would make such holdings subject to disclosure requirements at US customs checkpoints. This means if a person trying to enter the country has more than $10,000 worth of bitcoin in their possession, under the proposed legal change, they would need to inform the relevant authorities.

Investor and writer Simon Black, who pens the Sovereign Man blog, took aim at this aspect of the bill by declaring that, in the eyes of the US government, "bitcoin is evil" and should be up for grabs by border agents.

"So, theoretically if you leave the US with more than $10,000 in bitcoin or ether, you'd have to confess this fact to the authorities or otherwise face the aforementioned penalties, ie prison time, civil asset forfeiture, etc," Black wrote.

"HOORAY FREEDOM!" he added.

This is only a sign of a very real problem with how the government works, however, there is a simple and easy way to remain free while in the United States. Whenever you answer a question or do something you are told to do by ANY government official or officer of any kind simply say "under protest" before answering or doing it. Make sure and keep doing this, even when they tell you to stop saying it. Also, whenever you sign your name, it is equally important to ALWAYS write "under protest" above your signature before you sign. In a nutshell, the phrase "under protest" reserves your rights to be a sovereign. It is defined within the Black's Law Dictionary with the following definition: "An act done or a payment made under compulsion, while the actor or payor asserts he waves no rights, by making the payment or by doing the act."
Check my youtube channel for Police interactions on film! Freedom is great, but you MUST be under protest.
