The AMF has published a non-exhaustive list of sites specializing in bitcoin and cryptocurrencies that contravene the law. We complete it.
Sign that cryptocurrencies are gradually becoming an asset like the others, they are entitled to their black list of the AMF. The Autorité des Marchés Financiers published on March 15 an inventory of 15 sites contravening legislation on the advertising of riskier products (diamonds, rare earths, wine, forex ... and therefore cryptocurrencies). This stipulates that companies proposing on French territory to acquire property rights by putting forward the possibility of a return must have a registration number issued by the AMF. And none of them complied, according to the Authority.

"Although warned by the AMF of the new obligations imposed on them, these companies continue to communicate and / or solicit the public in France without their offer being registered with the AMF", explains public body. Regarding cryptocurrencies, the AMF's warning refers to the following websites:

http://crypto.private-finances.com/

http://ecs-solutions.net

http://ether-invest.com/

https://krakenaccess.com/

This list is non-exhaustive and includes only sites that advertise illegally. But often, they are also scam platforms installed outside France ... The Belgian equivalent of the AMF, the FSMA, went further by publishing at the end of February a list of sites for which it received complaints of consumers.

PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN
In general terms, the AMF invites savers to apply four rules of vigilance before investing:

No commercial speech should make one forget that there is no high return without high risk
Get a minimal base of information on companies or intermediaries who offer you the product (social identity, country of establishment, civil liability, organizational rules, etc.).
Invest only in what you understand.
Ask yourself how is the valuation of the product proposed (purchase price or selling price), find out precisely the terms of resale of the product and the associated deadlines, especially in the case where the product invests on a class of 'little liquid assets.
