Crypto buzz #5:
20 Coins at all time high VS now

We are experiencing another dip in the crypto world so to make you feel better (or worse) depending on how you see the future of the crypto market, here is a price list of 20 coins at their all time high VS now.

When I say “now”, I mean Jan 23rd, 23:00 UTC. Some of these coins are “veterans”. Some are newer, but I am sure you are familiar with most, if not all of them.

Bitcoin (BTC)
20,089 - 10,526
Ethereum (ETH)
1,432 - 968
Ripple (XRP)
3.84 - 1.22
Cardano (ADA)
1.33 - 0.55
Litecoin (LTC)
375 - 173
MIOTA (IOTA)
5.69 - 2.32
DASH
1,394 - 737
MONERO (XMR)
458 - 304
OmiseGO (OMG)
28 - 15
Tron (TRX)
0.30 - 0.06
SiaCoin (SC)
0.11- 0.037
STEEM
8.57 - 4:15
WAVES
18.07 - 8.05
WALTON (WTC)
43 - 28
ELECTRONIUM (ETN)
0.23 - 0.11
DENT
0.11 - 0.03
Power Ledger (POWR)
2.01 - 0.92
Substratum (SUB)
3:25 - 1.15
Quantstamp (QSP)
0.87 - 0.41
SONM (SNM)
0.78 - 0.30

And the prize for the biggest loser goes to (trrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr) - Tron (TRX)! 500%!!!
As you can see, most of these coins lost anywhere between 200% to over 300% of their value.

Now, whether you decide to regard this information as uplifting or depressing is up to you, but there is something to keep in mind. While all of these coins hit their ATH at slightly different times…ALL of them reached that mark some time between December 2017 and January 2018 (a few weeks ago). The global crypto market reached its all time high on Jan 7th, 2018 at roughly 835 Billion USD.

I guess compared to that, the current picture doesn't look pretty.

That said, I remain firmly confident that despite all the FUD being spread around the world right now; despite the annual selloff that occurs around this time of the year (if you don’t know what I am talking about, check out my previous post); despite the fact that the crypto market is now being closely watched by various governments around the world; despite the regulations that some of these governments applied and may apply in the future; despite all of that - the crypto market WILL recover and every single coin from the list above will touch their ATH again, and most will probably surpass it.

Crypto market is still very young and relatively small compared to the entire investment space. While it is beginning to attract more and more attention, it is yet to attract “the masses”. I also believe that Blockchain technology is possibly the biggest technological innovation since the internet itself. So...will we have more crashes? Yes we will and probably much more than the previous years. Will there be attempts to halt the progress of the crypto market? There will be.
However, once again, I truly believe that this technology, the intellectual and financial value it brings to the world, can not be stopped. Especially, considering the fact that one of the main agendas of the blockchain technology is to create a world in which no single government, no single person of influence, no one can really take away the power and freedom from the people. So whatever they throw at us, we will catch and throw back even stronger.

Meanwhile, get away from your computer. Stop refreshing that portfolio page every 2 minutes. Go on with your life. A few months (probably weeks) from now, you will not remember this crash/dip/correction or whatever you want to call it. Have a great week!

Time to invest?

I am not a financial advisor and this is not a financial advise. That said, my personal opinion is - definitely. You may not get this opportunity again. However, If you are a first time investor, I would be cautious and watch the market closely...this dip can go lower if we don't start seeing some concrete bullish signs.
Yesterday it seemed like the market is climbing back up, but as you can see it was a "dead cat bounce" in a way...right now, as I am writing this comment, the market climbed back 40 Billion from the time I started writing this post :) So as I said, if you plan to invest in something I wouldn't go all in. I would invest some and then see where things go...

Sounds good!
Thanks
