The Banker Who Said Too Much....hehe

in #bitcoin7 years ago (edited)

My wife is the finance manager in a car dealership here in Melbourne. We both use Bitcoin on a daily basis. She had the head of IT of one of the big four banks in her office (as a customer) charged with blockchain integration into their bank. She played dumb and did not say much and simply asked this guy questions.

Boy did this Twit come out with some stuff! His team and legal department have a $17milloin budget to integrate blockchain technology. He says the bank wants it done in a way that everything is not open. He bragged that he and the legal team will tie the project up in red tape for years and it will never see the light of day.

He went on to brag the bank was waiting for some of their older customers to die before closing all their branches! Also they are pretending to "refurbish" the branches, but actually make them look deep and large but in reality have smaller square footage and a staff of only two in the meantime.

Then... he said Bitcoin is not worth much and you can't use it anywhere.

Lol.

It was right at the point he started to suggest terrorists only use Bitcoin, my wife spoke up and explained Bitcoin had hit $3k USD recently and pulled out her Xapo Visa card and said no one uses it huh? Well I do and I also leverage your ATM and Visa card network, so I actually have you to thank I can use Bitcoin everywhere!! He went white as a ghost and made a bumbling attempt to change the subject immediately, explaining how people people want paper statements above email ones or some crap. It was so obvious he said too much. Hehe Gold. I did not mention which bank but if you are aware of Australian banks at all you will guess by the pic. (Rhymes with ANZ )
