Presenting the greatest living economist: Steve Keen
Today I want to promote a living academic who has consistently been on the cutting edge of macroeconomics and was listed as the most accurate predictor of the 2008 global financial crisis. Steve Keen of Australia is an expert on how the expansion of private debt causes an economic boom in a modern financialized capitalist economy that inevitably leads to an economic downturn in the form of a debt deflation when the population becomes overburdened with debt and no longer have the same purchasing power.
All of Steve Keen's lectures are posted to his youtube page (click on the link below). I highly recommend watching them. I also must recommend his groundbreaking book "Debunking Economics." I've read the book twice and must say that it's among the top two economics books I've read.

Steve Keen has been a regular guest on The Keiser Report, hosted by Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert. Here's one of his more recent interviews with Max and Stacy:
I will be posting more articles about the economic ideas of Steve Keen and his greatest influence, Hyman Minsky, in the coming weeks.
