The Complaints and Complaints Commission of the National Electoral Institute (INE) of Mexico denied a precautionary measure requested by the National Movement of Regeneration Movement (MORENA) against the cryptocurrency AMLOve Coin, considering that there is no evidence linking this project with damages caused to the candidate for the presidency for the party, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, better known as AMLO.

The request was declared inadmissible unanimously. Counselors Marco Banos, Adriana Favela and Claudia Zavala voted against the request, since the electoral authority "does not have enough elements to determine whether its use, in appearance of good law, is legal or illegal," according to the statement. official document, published by the INE through Twitter.

Given the particularities surrounding the present case and the result of the investigations conducted by the prosecuting authority, the precautionary measure would not be a timely, immediate and effective measure to stop the alleged violation or avoid the damage alleged by the complainant.

Recall that on January 31, the representative of Morena before the INE, Horacio Duarte, said that AMLOveCoin is part of the dirty campaign against the presidential candidate, which is why the party filed its complaint.

"Now they started an alleged digital currency that, from our point of view, only manages to muddy the environment more. By the way, I inform that we have already filed a complaint and we are disclaiming and we have nothing to do with that famous AMLOveCoin, "he said then.

According to its website, AMLOve Coin an initiative created by Mexican citizens, "who wanted to innovate to make a change and send a clear message to the rest of society." The token will be created using the ERC-20 protocol of the Ethereum blockchain. The idea is to create up to 13 million tokens, "that is, 1 per 10 citizens", with a value of 0.0001 ETH per AML.

According to their data, up to now they have received a total of 78,913 Mexican pesos, equivalent to about 4,000 dollars, through this Initial Currency Offer (ICO), which will be open until July 1. "The AMLOves issued account for the support to AMLO in an incorruptible manner," the project website highlights. When checking the portfolio indicated in the blockchain of Ethereum, a total of 95 transactions are observed.

López Obrador is a candidate for the Mexican presidency for the third time, nominated by the "Juntos Haremos Historia" coalition, where, in addition to MORENA, the Labor Party and the Social Encounter Party participate. López Obrador leads the polls for the federal elections in July and MORENA does not want this cryptographic project, which could be a satire or even a scam, to interfere with the development of the election and the potential advent of AMLO to the highest magistracy of the Aztec country .

There have already been similar initiatives in the ecosystem. In fact, the current president of the United States, Donald Trump, saw his name related to a cryptocurrency in support of his political ideal, called TRUMP Coin. Identified as a project born "from the people", TRUMP was created by an anonymous user as a kind of tribute to the vision of President Donald Trump on the transformation of the country (summarized in his well-known motto "Let's Make America Great Again").
