Bitshares GUI Release v2.0.171015
Summary
This is our most feature rich release so far. It does include a number of bug fixes as well, solving a few deeply rooted persistent problems related to the initial socket connection.
New and Improved
We've completely rewritten the Portfolio / Open Orders / Margin Positions and Activity screens. They all fall neatly under the Dashboard. Other noteable features include:
- Price of asset display
- Margin position Price / Call price display
- Margin Position color indicator in header when ratio dips to critical levels
- Summary of values for each of My Portfolio / Open Orders / Margin Positions tying back to overall account value.
- We have incorporated an optional QR code in place of the identicon now. All you have to do is click on it to change it permanently, or click again to switch it back. Clicking the Deposit BTS button also changes it. Also added text to explain that the username is their address.
- We fixed a serious issue related to the initial socket connection and also got to the root of a problem related to the latency reporting of eligible nodes.
- We also applied the new table stying to the accounts screen.
Future plans include:
- Continued conversion of the remaining tables
- Tradingview library to replace existing exchange charting
- Redesigned menu and header
- More thorough responsive design
- Redesigned Deposit / Withdrawal / Send screens

The GUI honestly threw me off at first as I got use to the old crazy GUI we had before lol.
I do like now though the setup after spending the last 2-3 days using it. I like being able to see everything in my account at a glance and the values of each at a glance instead of checking each market one by one.
LOL, You are right and we must not forget that the GUI is very interesting:
Because it is the only part of a program that the user can see and touch!
Because we all know applications that have incredible features but will never be successful because of their poor interface.
Sounds like HUGE progress Mr. Bill, especially the addition of Tradingview to appear in a future release. Keep it up, you & your team are doing fantastic work!
Making the whole platform more user friendly can only help everyone on the long run, as long as it doesn't downgrade the quality of the product. Here, in this instance, it sure doesn't and it is greatly appreciated. Thank you so very much for all this excellent work and unwavering dedication.

Before all this I would usually say that if it comes from Bitshares it must be good. Nowadays it must be perfect. Perfect implementation of UI/UX. Hands up.

Something that confues me in trading plaforms is the conversion of the diffrent coin prices to the dollar...some of bitrexx coins have usd next to it which makes easier to compare...wish it would have it on every coin...hope bitshares would build that feature soon

The Software Layout is Great!
Deposits are super simple and I LOVE the open gateways! Crazy, just crazy!

Going to be quite a race. LOL BitShares is definitely fast and capable already. :D trading was super quick and easy today. lol
There are a few "DEX"es but BITSHARES creator Dan is the one who coined the term! BitShares is the first real DEX and has greater possibilities than any other I can find.
They've done a stunning job, seriously.
