RE: Bitshares - State of the Network - 16th January 2018
Thanks, as always, for the thorough reporting on BTS. I had a few questions.
- A while back I read that there was an idea floating around to change the name from Bitshares to something else. Is that still a possibility?
- Is there any plan to make the wallet exchange portion a bit more user-friendly, which I think is important for new user adoption?
It is something that still might be on the cards but we are also fond of our existing name and preserving an important legacy - Bitshares is not some new blockchain; it is a proven system that has been operating successfully for years.. if we change names we will lose a little bit of that brand recognition.
The Bitshares reference wallet is being constantly with new releases coming out every 2 weeks. This is an active work proposal being project managed by @billbutler - he has a team of dev working on milestones in a agile framework.
2a. If you are using 1 of the many 3rd party provider such as RuDEX, Openledger, Bridge ect ect you may not see these updates as these teams independently maintain their own wallets and would need to merge changes for the updates to be seen by their customers
If you front page does not look similar to below i recommend you check out the latest release of the references clients (you will not be disappointed) - Web/Cloud wallet - Desktop wallet
