I will pay 50 bitUSD for an Archlinux AUR package for bitshares-core

in #bitshares7 years ago

I just can't make it build on my computers. I want to experiment with the CLI, and also think additional visibility to a smarter than average crowd - Arch Linux users - would do no harm.

If this post exceeds 50$, I will donate all accordingly.

To those wondering what on earth Archlinux is, it's the best operating system ever.

It's like a breath of fresh air. It's lean, simple, fast, accessible and flexible. The package manager is like 10x faster than apt and 100x faster than yum (my subjective experience). It comes barebones, and you can install whatever desktop you like -- vanilla. Everything is vanilla. There are packages for every single software in existence, except of course bitshares-core. You should really try it out. It totally stopped my distro-hopping. I've tried many distros after Arch, but they feel so underwhelming.

This is a bit old but I just installed Antergos and wanted bitshares on it.
Found this thread and a solution (well for me) 5 minutes later

I downloaded the .deb package from the bitshares site.
I installed 'debtab' from the AUR.
sudo debtap -u (first run requirement)
debtap -U bitshares-blah.blah.deb
sudo pacman -U bitshares-blah.blah.pkg.tar.xz

Figured it might help someone.
