PSA: BitShares will be delisted from Bittrex on October 13, 2017steemCreated with Sketch.

Bad news for all BitShares holders (I am one of them). BitShares will be deleted on Bittrex on October 13, 2017.

A huge sell off is going on right now.
-21% at this moment.

Why does Bittrex delete BitShares? I don't know... Maybe because Bitshares is a competitor? Bittrex has not issued an explanation (yet).

The solution: Use the BitShares decentralized exchange and never worry about it being delisted ever again.

Why? anybodody knows?

There's some interesting comments at https://www.reddit.com/r/BitShares/comments/73ynmq/bittrex_to_remove_bts_on_october_13th_2017/. In particular, the ones about Ada. I did take the opportunity to look into Ada; it looks interesting. I ended up buying some. I've also bought some more BTS as well. There were some great BTS loan offers on Poloniex several hours ago; if BTS drops down again I expect there will be more great offers.

i guess so, they compete bittrex... 100% upvote :)

This came as quite a shock and I looked for news on the reasons why without any luck. I think you hit the nail on the head here, they are a competitor, and a competitor that is gaining momentum. I imagine they thought it best to act now to protect what market share they could.

Looks like same fate will befall steem sooner than later.

I'am wondering why by far the highest trading volume for BTS is happening outside of the DEX ^^ Bitshares would be way better if traders would leave Polo and Trex (trading volume-wise).

Didn't see this coming. Thanks for the info.

Dang... this is not so welcome news! Seems kind of out of nowhere? Oh well, like you mentioned, it's time to move to exclusively using OpenLedger and other next generation exchanges. I predict the price will recover after this initial sell off, but how long it takes to happen is anyone's guess.. thanks for the quick update @penguinpablo..

No wonder they chose that date... It's Friday the 13th!
