5 Arrested in South Korea For Injecting Crypto Mining Malware in 6,000 PCs
Five men in South Korea were arrested today for illegally injecting more than 6,000 computers with crypto mining malware. In the months of October and December 2017, they sent over 32,435 emails containing the malware. They targeted thousands of job applicants, posing as employers. The hackers were unable to generate a significant revenue because anti-virus software operators responded quickly. After penetrating over 6,000 computers, they were able to make only $1,000 in profit.
