Currently the world health organization and other associated organizations seek to do more of preventive medicine in other to reduce the cost of curative medicine. One of the most important process to achieve this is by immunization communities and populations against certain diseases which can prevented.

Also an up to monitoring of the temperature (and also device function ) has to be done constantly to avoid loss of vaccine functionality.
For example according to WHO study oral polio vaccine is a highly heat unstable vaccine. It uses a VVM2, which means that it is heat stable for approximately 2 days at 37oC (7 days at 25oC, 225 days at 5oC). About 35% of the global polio eradication campaign expenditures goes to vaccine purchases every year. At 14.6 cents per dose, each year over 270 million USD is spent to purchase about two billion doses of oral polio vaccine . About 40 percent of this is lost to causes which includes temperature damage among others.
