Walking Before We Run (Crypto Currency Adoption)steemCreated with Sketch.

Digital Currencies boom and everyone's a fucking genius who turned their $500 into $10,000 and then a week later the market is down and the media is cheering because Bitcoin and Cryptos are "dead." This new thing enters the mainstream and we polarize. We all go sprinting full speed in opposite directions. I want to find the middle ground in this crypto anarchy.
First thing I want to say is that the invention of blockchain technology is with out a doubt one of theee most important inventions in this generation. The ways it will change the way we function is unimaginable. It will become apart of our everyday lives in ways that some people have not even thought of yet. The most obvious being how we handle money.
This digital currency world is quite insane some coins are just here to scam you, others are based on a future technology that it will eventually function on, some are literally a joke (Doge). While the hype behind coins like ADA and INS are real and for good reason, they don't even have a functioning platform yet. They have serious potential but to go to both extremes and say they're not worth anything, to saying its a heavily undervalued coin is insane, you don't know, no one really truly understands this space because it is that new and it's growing that fast.
Steem has EXACTLY the right idea a long with a few other coins, but in order for us to be accepted in this world we have to legitimize ourselves by creating functioning economies for these coins to exist in. What does that mean? We don't need atms and crypto debit cards. We need sites like Steem that create legitimate use cases. Believe it or not Crypto Kitties was one of the first to do it.
Last thing that I'll leave you with and something that makes me wiry about coins like Ripple; I don't think you can expect any major companies to adopt their system. While it is extremely efficient they have no reason to adopt because they're just going to hire their own team and create their own. As this gets more mainstream and people begin to understand what this technology is capable of and how to construct it, you'll see the one's looking to be adopted fall to the wayside.
They have time maybe 3 to 4 years but the business world moves fast and especially when you have something as valuable as digital currencies.
All in all this space is full of excitement and opportunity, but let's walk before we run.
