JD.com to join Blockchain

JD.com, Chinese retail and internet giant, to join Blockchain in Transport Alliance (BiTA), which was conducted to develop and promote blockchain standards for freight and logistics globally. JD logistics will join the alliance to share it blockchain technology knowledge and applications with other international companies, among which are UPS, FedEx, Penske and others. <The company said it plans use blockchain in the optimization of supply chains, cross-border logistics and communications, as well as to help improve collaboration on the tech within the industry>. JD decided to join immediately after the membership of FedEx to BiTA was announced.
Blockchain technology is increasing as is seen as very efficient, transparent and low cost means in the field of logistics. Only last month NTT Data Corporation and Skuchain, a blockchain technology startup, decided to cooperate to develop blockchain applications for supply chains. Maersk, global shipping company, has also announced its sympathy to work with blokchain with IBM in order to foster cooperation between other companies.
