Jesus and the Blockchain
Jesus was a miner.
On a metaphysical level, he came to distribute the divine life and reveal the decentralized reality of the Kingdom of God. Much of His earthly struggle involved battling the highly centralized religion of His time.
Part of the problem with ancient Judaism was the people had veiled access to God. For example, the priest was required to function as a third party mediator between God and the people. The holy of holies, which represented the presence of God, was blocked by a veil and only the priest could gain access. The laws represented a type of language data encryption which was uniquely systematized for the Israelites. God’s consciousness expansion and revelation began with an initial source code embedded within His chosen nation. As the mystery unraveled, the tapestry of his creative design was moved from letters engraved in stone (old covenant) via the exterior world to the interior. The force of his creative initiative was first beheld in nature. When the mystery was revealed, the locust of control shifted to the interior world. The veil was torn. This is why Christ says the “kingdom of God is within you.” He came to literally indwell and empower humanity with his Holy Spirit (new covenant).
As Christ mines his Church through the power of the Holy Spirit, the decentralized nature of the Kingdom is evident in that all people of all tribes and nations have access. “The Spirit moves where it wills.” The encryption key is faith. In Christ the fullness of the deity dwelt in bodily form (Col 2.9). We now have access to divine life through Christ. The distributed network is set in motion through the working of the Holy Spirit and the divine ledger is Christ who is now inscribed on the heart of every person who connects to Him in faith. When the Father reviews all of history, he does so through the prism of Christ. This means every transaction is validated and measured through His Son. We are nodes within the kingdom blockchain and Christ has imputed all perfect transactions within the divine ledger to us.
If you've made it this far, you may be asking: doesn't the centrality of Christ imply a centralization of authority? -- Yes and No. -- Christ is the singularity by which the new creation and revealed kingdom expansion is initiated. This is why Christ came to set the captives free. Freedom implies we are now a new creation and a new species free to steward and live out the reality of the Kingdom in every facet of human experience.
