Gladius ICO - CDN and DDOS Protection On The Blockchain

in #blockchain7 years ago (edited)

As users of crypto exchanges you surely have seen sites getting Ddosed (often on coin pumps) or just sites getting so popular they cant handle the traffic. There are many services helping with that, Cloudflare/Akamai being most popular.

The services itself are centralized so at some point if there is bug with them or an attack on them, whole network will go down, as has single point of attack.

Gladius solves this problem.

Full whitepaper HERE but this is are most crucial things i want to mention

They want to build a technology and marketplace which lets people all across the world rent/use their spare and underutilized bandwidth to help safeguard (DDoS protection) and participate in a global CDN) websites.

It will be cheaper than current centralized SaaS platforms as you will pay only when using the system, not a monthly or daily fee.

It will have better speed due to nodes possibly everywhere in the world. This way it can work even on closed geoserving networks in rare places.

The Gladius network has no single point of failure. Cloudflare was DDoS’d and shut down for a few hours this summer. This can’t happen to Gladius because it is completely decentralized and the attackers would have to shut down thousands of separate components.

People can monetize idle/spare bandwidth. It already happends with monetizing storage (Siacoin, Storj or Filecoin), and now its time to utilize underutilized bandwidth and help protect and accelerate websites across the globe.

Public Sale in 32 Days

There is enough time for you to do research on this, read whitepaper and prepare. The product will go live early 2018 in form of Web Portal and Desktop Client.
Start rate will be 700 GLA (Gladius Tokens) per 1 Ethereum.

Hey kingscrown,
Very interesting read, Thanks you for sharing it!

Great ico

Fascinating idea. I'm curious how you would be able to direct traffic to all of the spare computers and networks to absorb the attack. I guess I'll have to read the whitepaper.

On a side note, it would be great if you could source that F.U.D. you are creating in the following:

Cloudflare was DDoS’d and shut down for a few hours this summer.

Cloudflare was not taken down due to a DDoS attack. (Source: I work there.)
Are you thinking the Dyn or AWS outage?

What does this set the market cap at for the coin?
