Interesting musings! There is a whole branch of sociology dedicated towards the study of technology, gender, and the ways in which the scientific process upholds and perpetuates the pervading power model (think detached objectivity). Its called STS (Science and Technology Studies), and I find it to be one of the more captivating areas of academic study. Additionally, there is a small branch of anthropology called Cyborg Studies that may capture your interest too. Various gender and feminist studies scholars contribute to this one, Donna Harraway being one of the more prominent. Thanks for the post :)
Thanks for the comment! I'm extremely familiar with Donna Harraway and plan to write extensively in the near future about cyberfeminism from a transgender perspective. - Emily
Cool I look forward to reading!
