in #blockchain6 years ago (edited)

INTRODUCTION
Going back history lane to 2004 where you basically have two options if you want to share a file; you either use file sharing service like YouSendIt, which was brand new at that time or you simply copy the file to a disc and hand it over to the recipient. Today, there are a lots of file sharing platforms such as Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Amazon Drive etc where one can share big files easily, store in the cloud and sync across multiple devices. Despite the increased popularity of the aforementioned platforms, they are plagued with non-competitive legal alternative for file sharing, insufficient data preservation for future use and limited free to use file sharing.

Files.fm Library is going to revolutionize the file sharing industry by changing the current centralized system approach and restoring the magnificent and transparent P2P kind of networks where internet users would have access to useful free and paid content in an user-friendly and legal way, rewards of authors would be distributed fairly according to their work and community members would be remunerated for their performance in doing useful work to store digital heritage for the sake of current and future Internet users.

Files.fm Library is a free to use hybrid-decentralized P2P data platform, built and maintained by Files.fm and the community based on shared traffic, storage, direct micro payment and token incentives. Files.fm cloud storage was created in 2008 and at the moment it has implemented a centralized file storing, sharing, selling, publishing and encrypted backup solutions as well as a working beta version of P2P file sharing and video streaming. The Files.fm existing system would be expanded to create the Files.fm Library by improving the P2P sharing, adding advanced content analysis, search and blockchain technology. Files can be shared for free on freemium and paid files are also available on premium and the platform can be accessed using browsers on PCs, android phones, tablets, iphones, ipad etc.

Files.fm Library boosts of a hybrid semi-decentralized fog computing network of web browsers and features which ensures high download and upload speed of contents as well as safety and fail-safes against file loss. It uses both centralized and decentralized P2P network nodes to ensure that files will be always accessible even if the server goes down. The platform
is well equipped with the latest technologies to fight against malicious Sybil and outsourcing attacks. All network traffic is performed through secured and encrypted channel (SSL encryption is used for HTTP and WebSocket traffic and SRTP encryption is used for WebRTC) and all files on centralized FFL servers and decentralized P2P network provider client server are stored in encrypted form and can only be decrypted with a decrypting key.

Files.fm Library brings a game-changing solution to the unending challenges that has plagued the industry. Before a content creator would be allowed to upload a content, FFM tokens would have to be deposited. When the content is uploaded, antivirus and illegal contents are scanned for with the help of content recognition and indexing, powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI). If the uploaded content is of low quality, the author looses the deposited tokens and if the author repeatedly uploads poor contents or pirated work, the author may be banned from using the platform. But if the content is good and approved, the deposited tokens is returned back to the content creator and he/she is also remunerated for his/her hard work. This would no certainly ensures that only quality contents are uploaded and put to bed the issue of piracy.
