Has Doug Polk Folded on Crypto?
The poker guru turned YouTube sensation, Doug Polk, has been a quick-rising star in the crypto world when he started a new YouTube channel completely dedicated to the topic. His YouTube channel is known for collating selected topics from his co-founded cryptocurrency news website Coin Central and presenting them to the audience in a TMZ-style format for our entertainment. He is an outspoken serious investor in crypto and blockchain which makes his audience wonder, where could he have gone?
Polk’s crypto channel has been silent for almost a month now with last submission date 15th March 2018. His last video was basically another followup to the infamous BitConnect stars similar to another video he posted months prior. This has led to a disappointment among his near 200,000 subscribers on the popular video website.
In recent history, Doug Polk trusted his community in investing $100k of his own money into a cryptocurrency portfolio. Investment choices were done live via straw polls and polls on his Twitter account. This was performed before the recent crash resultant from news regarding Japanese and SEC regulation. The price of bitcoin fell nearly 60% since that time in late February/early March and it is likely the viewer-voted portfolio plummeted during that time too, making it an estimated $60k in losses. Perhaps Polk cut his losses and ran from the space after lost faith in the crypto markets due to this crash?
His interest in poker, however, seems just as strong as ever having posted a couple videos on his YouTube poker channel in the time he has been missing from crypto with his last poker video posted 3 days prior to writing.
So what do you think? Did Doug Polk fold on crypto? Let us know in the comments below!
