RE: Kik to launch cryptocurrency on Ethereum | Programmer explains

BTW, i noticed, that you have unclaimed rewards in your wallet:

Technically speaking you do not need to claim them (they will just wait), but if you are active on steemit, it is good idea to claim your SteemPower, because your vote will be stronger, and also you will be able to earn more on curation.

Also.. as you can see, you have some SteemDollars. Whole goal of SteemDollar is to provide a mechanism (smart contract), which will always be more or less equal 1 USD. This should be very good and easy to accept by merchants.

However... few weeks ago weird things start happening:

Why price of SBD started rising? There are few theories.. but one of them are saying, the Bitfinnex problems were responsible, that people lost ability to withdraw money with USDT:

Right now no one actually is sure, why people want to speculate on SBD price, which suppose to go to 1 USD eventually. Actually Steem blockchain has a mechanism which was designed in case if price of SBD would start fall bellow 1 USD. Witnesses can add additional interest to SBD holdings, so then more people should start to keep them long term. Right now interest is 0% (it cannot go bellow 0).

Few days ago @timcliff described an idea, how SBD peg could be fixed:

https://steemit.com/sbd/@timcliff/saving-sbd-proposal-to-restore-the-usd1-usd-usd1-sbd-peg

Why I am telling this to you right now? Because if this will be implemented, probably price of SBD would go back to 1 USD. Right now everyone can sell SBD on poloniex or internal market for more than a dollar.

thank you very much for the clarification! :) I wanted to ask you another thing: should you upvote replies on your posts? I really want to upvote, but I'm wondering if that would be bad for my "powers" because not many other people will upvote the replies on my posts. What do you think?

rules about votes will slightly change in next hardfork (HF19 - https://steemit.com/steem/@steemitblog/2hfxx1-pre-release-hf19-linear-rewards - really great news :)), but right now you can vote for 40 things with 100% voting power.

Your current voting power can be checked at: https://steemdb.com/@ivanli (on the right)

You can vote for 40 things with 100% vote, or for 80 things with 50%... or any combination. You basically have like 4000% voting power to spent daily (this will change in next HF - default vote will be stronger).

If you vote for 400 things a day, your vote will automatically dilute on that day.

Voting for comments is not good or bad. Value of each post/comment is subjective for every voter, so only voter can decide whether he or she want to vote for that :)
