I'm only new to this stuff myself, but I reckon maybe:

1. Blockchain is distributed, transparent and inherently cryptographically trustworthy
2. The cryptography underpinning the blockchain and cryptocurrencies allows for authoritative and trustworthy identification of individuals (see public key signing)
3. The steem blockchain uses a cryptocurrency to reward social interactions.
