The world's first blockchain smartphone is coming soon from Sirin

in #blockchain7 years ago

Sirin Labs, the company behind the US$15,000 Solarin smartphone, is now developing an open-source smartphone that will run on a fee-less blockchain. The Finney (named in honor of bitcoin pioneer Hal Finney) will be the only smartphone in the world that is fully secure and safe enough to hold cryptocurrency -- at least according to the company, which is launching a crowdsale fundraising event in October to develop the smartphone.

According to Sirin, all Finney devices (including the all-in-one PC which they're also planning) will form an independent blockchain network powered by IOTA's Tangle technology. The network will operate without any centralized backbones or miners running the transaction processes. It will use SRN token as its default currency, and SRN tokens will be needed to purchase the device. Everything will run on a Sirin operating system, Shield OS, that is specifically designed to support blockchain applications such as crypto wallets and secure exchange access. unfold.

The phone comes with all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a smartphone that costs $1,000 price tag:

Secure P2P resource sharing
Built-in cold-storage crypto walletFast, fee-less, blockchain
Behavioral-based Intrusion Prevention System (IPS)
Blockchain based, tampering proof verification
Physical security switch (for wallet protection)
Secured communications (VoIP, text, email)
Three-Factor authentication: Biometric, Lock Pattern, Behavioral

Is this phone ahead of its time? Will you be buying it?
