MEDIA Protocol – Using Token Utilities to Build a Fair Interaction between Creators and Consumers

MEDIA protocol is a brand new platform promoting a new dynamic for sharing content that is both fair and equal to the content creator and the consumer. The system is being designed to work on a pay-per-view scheme that has a lot of different takes depending on the deal signed over the network’s customary smart contracts. There is also the open option to work through affiliate apps from third parties that can merge with the open code created by the company to have an inclusive network of affiliates that will be able to monetise their content while paying just a tiny fraction of their earnings to MEDIA Protocol to keep the platform up and running.

Changing the Way Content is Managed Online

One of the first offerings of MEDIA Protocol is the way content publishers manage their relationship with their users. In platforms such as YouTube, the dynamics of monetisation are based on the number of views a creator gets. Since the company bases their business model in a one-way interaction dynamic, as a user there is no reward to claim other than getting the information we requested from the content while getting interrupted a number of ties by meddlesome ads. With MEDIA established brands or well positioned content generators can offer tokenised rewards to their customer base for watching a specific piece of content or even by distributing it.

A New Way to Market a Brand

Big companies can get so much out of this strategy since it works almost like a reward program offered by their loyal customers making them default ambassadors of the brand, a model that could very well disrupt the need for marketing agencies. Although the system favors streaming videos as a preferred method of sharing content, it’s not limited to it. Advertisers running tokenised reward programs can opt to offer blog posts, articles, podcasts, audio files or plain old digital flyers. The more a user shares content, the more rewards they’ll be able to collect. If their efforts pay off in the form of conversions leading to more interaction with the MEDIA Protocol, the rewards could be greatly increased.

Using Tokens to Reward Content Viewership and Distribution

When a regular user collects rewards using the system’s toke utility they can either choose to store them or pay for their preferred content inside the platform in the form of subscriptions. In their role as consumers, they will be able to monetise their personal data and contribute to the programming of the algorithms that will redirect them to content based on their preferences. In the end, this will be a win-win situation for all the parties involved since it will incentivise the consumption of content backed up by a fair distribution of funds that will continually feed the network’s ecosystem token-economics. New publishers will also have the option to request “tips” for their content as they establish their names, instead of collecting direct payments, and users can choose to offer a reward based on their judgment of the quality of the content.
MEDIA Protocol certainly seems to look forward to changing the way things are done when it comes to content distribution, to learn more about how they plan to do so you can visit https://www.mediaprotocol.org/.
