Advisory: Delegation buys from BlockTrades are currently being treated as pre-orders
As of the time of this post, we are currently out of available steem power (SP) to delegate, but we have a lot of SP becoming available for delegation today and over the next few days from expiring 30-day delegations. We have 362K SP returning as of December 13th, and 500K SP by December 15th, and more will be returning thereafter.
Currently we are treating any purchase that exceeds the send Deposit limit (shown above the price estimator on our web page) for delegated steem power as a pre-order. The price for pre-orders will be the price at the time we confirm the input funds (e.g if you pay with Steem, our system will price it as of the time we receive the Steem).
We are roughly filling such pre-orders in the order they come in (delegation time period will only start after I fill the order). Note that we can't guarantee this order completely as some of the steem power that is returning to us is getting sniped as soon as it shows up, but we are doing our best to honor the order in which the pre-orders were made.
If you've already placed an order and don't want to wait in the queue until we get more Steem Power, please contact us at [email protected] for a refund.
Note that the temporary shortage of available steem power for delegations does not impact renewals of existing steem delegations. If you have an existing unexpired steem delegation that was purchased while signed into your BlockTrades account, you can login and renew it now.

Our system is reporting that your delegation had already expired and therefore wasn't renewable. But since it's the first such case on our production system, our programmers will check to be sure it's correct. If it has expired, I'll refund your SBD, so please don't be worried.
oh I'm sorry I didn't realize that it's not possible to renew a delegation that's already expired.. because the option was there I thought it's possible.. in that case is it possible to lease me a fresh new delegation with the sbd that I already send
The option shouldn't have been there unless the web page was simply open for a long time. But these are new pages so there could be some issue I'm not aware of that caused it to show it. I'll ask for some more testing to be done to be sure that there is no problem that can cause it to happen.

ok.. I got the refund.. it seems like the demand for delegations have exceeded the market supply.. very hard to find delegations..

It was a silly mistake which your engineers overlooked.. I got the refund.. should I demand a compensation? lol jk.. on second thought how about a 100% upvote from you on this comment 😁✌

Thanks for the heads up @blocktrades I only just worked out that delegation of SP is the same as a lease, such an awesome concept - hope the market sorts itself out for the moment. What is the long term plan in this regard? Surely we can't run out of delegation every month?
It depends on demand, which I can't really predict.

EDIT: We don't have a capability like that currently, but from internal information I can see that we will be able to fill most and probably all outstanding requests as of this moment by late friday night (probably half by thursday).

No, it's better to email our support line, comments here are monitored less frequently. I've canceled his delegations now.
Any idea when the delegation will arrive? Placed an order today. Forgot about this. It's a great service so I'd just like to have an ETA.
It will be Sunday morning EST before we can fill all currently existing pre-orders. The queue is getting longer.

I now only see BitShares, Dogecoin, Dash, Ethereum, and Litecoin as send options and BitShares, Dogecoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin as receive options.
No Steem or SBD either way. Is this a minor glitch, or a huge issue?
I have seen the same issue couple of minutes ago. As i remember from the past happened 1 or 2 times. Might be maintenance or sth ?
My guess is they are doing an update to the wallet or something, due to the amount of back orders happening with delegated Steem power. The demand is far too high as more people catch on. Minnowbooster is an alternative, but far less convenient or reliable.
minnowbooster is also drained.. they are also refunding me the Steem after being unable to fill the request for 3 days..
Yeah, seems like its hardly alive over there... I guess that's the deal though, there's only so much of the pie and it's first come first serve. I've seen some people making posts calling for witch hunts to determine who deserves it more, even listing every steem user who upvotes themselves (not smart), but that would just be turning steem into the thing we're trying to move away from: centralized power structures that dictate what you can and cannot use your money on.
well.. everyone thinks only they deserve the pie and the rest are all spammers.. LOL.. and tbh decentralization only exist in theory.. in reality.. those with more wealth will always have more power...
Our steem wallet was down while resyncing, it's back up now.
But I am still waiting for my delegation power @blocktrades

Would you be interested in a report/table showing what the accounts are doing with your delegated Steem Power?
Do you have any rules regarding what is accepted use? - I'm not expecting this to be a yes, but thought I would ask.
Are you of the opinion that once purchased, accounts are free to do whatever they wish?
Would you consider breaking the contract with an account if they were seen to be using this leased SP in a way that was overly negative to the platform?

Damn I just bought a lease 10 mins ago and I was checking to see why it's not showing and then I see your post :) How long will you think untill the market normalizes? or we will see more of this in the future? When should I expect my SP? Tomorow?
Tomorrow is "possible", but the day after is more likely.
Soon for you I think, I emailed support 2 days ago about a rather large lease I placed. I just received my delegation today and am happy it didn't get lost in the sauce, so to speak 😊 Thanks for honoring the pre-orders, gonna place another one today. Keep up the good work @blocktrades 👊🏽
