BlockTrades adds new “Help and Support” system

in #blocktrades6 years ago

BlockTrades has always put a lot of emphasis on fast and efficient customer support, as we too have experienced the emotional stress of waiting for funds to arrive safely at their destination. In general, I think we’ve been in an industry leader in “fast response” resolution of transaction problems, but we’ve always felt that we could do even better.

For the past few months, we've been working intensely to update the code for our website (https://blocktrades.us) to add an integrated “Help and Support” system. The goal of this system (accessible via the new Help menu at the top of our web site) is to help users learn how to use our site most effectively and decrease the time it takes for us to solve customer problems.

Free Cryptocurrency-usage training

The new help system includes information that will be useful to anyone interested in learning more about cryptocurrency transactions, such as tips for how to check that your transaction has succeeded when using different types of wallets. It also has several “Steem-specific” sections on topics like Steem account creation, Steem Power delegations, etc.

In many cases, this information should enable customer problems to be resolved without needing to wait for assistance from our support personnel. In cases where assistance is required, the new Support Request form should enable us to more quickly gather the information needed to solve such problems without creating a lengthy chain of emails.

Interactive Help and Support

Below are some screen shots of the new Help system. In the first screen, we see the initial Help view. From this page, a user can browse through the help topics on the right, or use the Interactive Help available via the Support Request form on the left to help you find the information you need.

To use the Interactive Help, "Select type of help needed” and the help page displayed on the right will change to show appropriate help topics. Depending on the type of problem, you can then select from a second dropdown to narrow down the nature of the problem and get more specific help.

If the interactive help doesn’t resolve your problem, you can submit your completed Support Request, which will provide us with the info we need to resolve the problem. Most commonly this will be necessary when a transaction failed for some reason. In such cases, you will be able to select the problem trade from your transaction history table. In our ideal world, you’ll be able to request the help you need in 7 clicks, without having to check your notes or open another browser, and then get a fast response that we have fixed the issue.

An evolving system

It’s important to us that this new system gets our customers the help they need quickly and easily, and that it not just feel like fighting through an automated phone tree, so please feel free to provide us with feedback on your experience. This is really our “first try” solution, and we’re happy to hear from our customers about ways we can improve it further.

Other news: transfers fees reduced for Bitcoin and Monero

We’ve recently lowered the “flat fees” associated with sending Bitcoin and Monero as a result of the decreased fees charged by those blockchains. Most notably, the flat fee we charge for a Monero output transaction is approximately one penny (~$0.01 USD).

I am having trouble trying to buy steem power with bitcoin

Is there downtime I am not aware of?

Same here.

Hi, thx for the report, it's fixed now. When we updated the site we didn't realize we also had to update a sub-component.

Please add Scorum, I don't want to use HotBit. $380K volume yesterday, up from $400. =)

from $400 to $380K, sounds plausible :-)

I think the Co-Founder dumped a bunch (for SteemFest, best guess by looking at explorer and reading news). It's a Steem clone for Sports. Ronnie Boesing at OL is on board of advisors and that was the only exchange until HotBit. But HotBit has some sort of registration issue, they do not release owner info and there's just not a lot of info on them out there so many are hesitant to use ... and I need an easier cash out method for players on our Scorum Poker site. :)

Can I please ask why blocktrades and So Many others are sending SO MUCH STEEM to @deepcrypto8 also known as cpzhao and @alpha?

Thank you!

Others TRADE for i.e. BNB so they send STEEM-STEEM via #Binance (deepcrypto8 is Binance's) ;-)

But what I do if I want to buy i.e. BNB, XLM, etc. is sell STEEM-ETH via BlockTrades to Binance, etc. 😊

Any problems I've had with the blocktrades site/service have always been solved quickly and to both our satisfactions. I would highly recommend their service

@blocktrades the "Help n support" system will help all of us no doubt sir! Since I joined steemit, i noticed that you are the no 1 helping community in terms of crypto trading , exchange and delegations. Specially the exchange and delegation rental rates are very cheap if I compare it to others. I m also saving steem to buy a delegation rent as it will help me veey much in the nxt three months... In which my growth rate will increase. Not only me, you are helping every steemitian and even others who uses your service..

  • I am also very much interested about the free crypto-currency usage training. I hope it will help me more about learning the basics about transactions, delegations, account creation etc.

  • the UI of help and supporr system is looking nice and easily understandable... Also we can select from our transaction history which will be very helpful to diagnose the problem and solve it in a more fast way. 7 clicks is what it takes! 😎😎

  • also it is a very good news that the transfer fees have been reduced for bitcoin and monero! It will help many users, specially small onec to save a few bucks!

stay well and keep doing the nobel work! You are awesome!

It looks like you're trying to use your email address as the receive address - you will need to get a wallet for the type of cryptocurrency that you wish to receive and use that address.

I cannot understand Indonesian but your screenshot shows you want to buy STEEM with ETH. You can use this post as reference, just change change currencies you wish to use (Bitcoin or Ether or whatever) and make sure to use/select the correct currency and address OR you will LOSE your funds. To buy STEEM or Steem Power or SBD the receive address should be our Steemit USERNAME.

Above link is for BUYING Steem or Steem Power or SBD. You can use below post as reference when SELLING Steem or SBD.

To sell STEEM or SBD to Bitcoin, Ether, Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, the receive address should be the long alphanumeric address like in the screenshot below, not email.

Email address can be used to send/receive cryptos ONLY IF i.e. Xapo to Xapo accounts/wallets, Coinbase to Coinbase accounts/wallets, etc.

Cool stuff. I heard from my steemian friends saying that @blocktrades is actually a middle-age guy and I always wondering how does he maintain the business. Is this all done by him alone or there is a team behind the scene?

Just started my little development on top of Steem and I found that maintaining/upgrading site like this is no easy job. Thanks for the inspiration!

BlockTrades doesn't have direct employees, instead it directly or indirectly hires contractors for the development work, but a lot of people are involved in BlockTrades projects . We probably have one of the largest teams of blockchain-related developers (21 programmers, mostly full-time and a few part time) working on various projects (our "instant exchange" is just one of our more publicly visible projects).

Wow that's impressive to find out. A team with such size is actually comparable if not more than those actual crypto project.

Hello there @blocktrades, I'm a big-time art hobbyist and I would like to start hosting some art creation contest series. Appreciate your support over the course and it would be great if I could seek for your sponsorship for the contest prizes.

Is there any channels I could discuss more with you on this? It would be like total prize of 30sbd for a weekly/bi-weekly contest.

@blocktrades Team, i am using Blocktrades from my Initial days of Steem Journey and literally speaking, from then to now I've only saw Blocktrades in Growth and Improving aspect and that's an really appreciable aspect for sure. And now you came up with more vital step and that is Help and Support. And this is vital because now the reach and usability of Blocktrades is growing day by day. And in this main aspect is, Users can learn about the Transactions, Wallet Types and other Steem Specific topics so in my opinion this is effective step towards the Knowledge Transfer. So keep up the great work team. 🙂
