Group H

ENGLAND 0 - 1 BELGIUM

The first place of this group was to be defined by the result of this game in a monumental clash between two teams that arrived to this game with six points each. Searching to avoid Colombia in the Last 16 round, the game went down as we expected, with both teams playing a top level football but also giving some rest to their star players knowing their next round participation was secured no matter what.

The game was very close and competed in the midfield zone. Both teams play the sidelines with fast players, so this game was a come and go style with a lot more defensive rather than offensive plays; it was one of the reserve players who scored this time at minute 51 with a crossed kick from outside the box, from Adnan Januzaj. This game served both head coaches as practice to get to know their strengths and weaknesses when playing against top tier teams, which both teams are.

Se definía el primer lugar del grupo G con un choque monumental entre la selección de Bélgica e Inglaterra, ambos llegaban clasificados y con 6 puntos en busca de evitar a Colombia del grupo H, pero bien dicen que para ser campeón hay que ganarle a cualquiera. El partido transcurrió como se esperaba, un juego con grandes jugadores pero sabiendo que los directores técnicos descansarían a sus figuras guardándose para la siguiente ronda.

El partido fue muy cerrado y muy peleado en el medio campo, ambos equipos juegan por las bandas con jugadores muy rápidos, por lo que fue mas un partido de defensa que de ataque, y fue precisamente una de las rotaciones, Adnan Januzaj al minuto 51 que abrió e marcador con un gran gol cruzado desde la punta del lado izquierdo del área. Sin duda este partido le sirvió a ambos técnicos para conocer mejor sus fortalezas y debilidades, sabiendo que enfrente tuvieron una gran selección de fútbol.

PANAMA 1 - 2 TUNISIA

Yassine Meriah had the bad luck of scoring an own goal that gave partial advantage to the central Americans who have had one of the worst world cup debuts ever and were looking to save some face and say good bye with at least a tie, getting their first point ever in the history of World cups, but Tunisia has been playing at a good level considering their history and Panama also had to face Belgium and England, so it was very hard from the beginning for them to get one point out of the three games.

Fakhreddine Ben Youssef tied the score for the Africans, who attacked during the whole match and finally found a reward for their hard work and effort. It was Wahbi Khazri who closed the score with a 2 - 1 for Tunisia who goes home with 3 points in their pocket and a smile and some joy for their fans, while for Panama fans and as every other debutant, they still have a lot to learn from this worldwide event.

Yassine Meriah marco un autogol que le dio la ventaja parcial a los panameños que han tenido un terrible mundial de debut y que buscaban salvar la verguenza y despedirse por lo menos con un empate, obteniendo su primer punto en la historia de sus mundiales, sin embargo, Túnez ha jugado muy bien al fútbol y simplemente le toco jugaron contra Inglaterra y Bélgica por lo que les fue mas difícil ganar algún juego.

Fakhreddine Ben Youssef igualó el marcador para los africanos, que durante todo el juego llegaron con mucho peligro al área panameña y por fin encontraban una recompensa, Wahbi Khazri cerró el marcador para que la selección de Túnez se vaya a casa con 3 puntos en la bolsa y una alegría para su afición, mientras que Panamá como cualquier debutante, aun tiene mucho que aprender sobre las copas del mundo.

Group G

JAPAN 0 - 1 POLAND

Despite their defeat, Japan classified as 2nd place of their group, all because of the Senegal´s defeat, who depended on himself to qualify against Colombia - if they had won, they would´ve been in the next round. Japan will face Belgium on one of the toughest matches for the Asians. On this game, the Japanese national team showed a low level game and left us asking for more, they showed a very different version of what we had seen in the early matches.

Poland was already eliminated from the tournament but they weren´t about to surrender that easily. Poland got better but they were too late to the party. If they had played like this from the beginning perhaps Lewandowski and company would be playing the next round. Jan Bednare scored the lonely goal with which Poland says good bye to the world cup.

A pesar de la derrota, Japón ha clasificado como segundo lugar del grupo H, todo esto debido a la derrota de senegal, que dependía de si mismo contra Colombia. Japón enfrentara a Bélgica en un duelo durisimo por los octavos de Final. La selección de Japón fue inoperante y mostró una versión totalmente diferente a la de los partidos anteriores

Polonia ya eliminada mostró una mejoría en su fútbol pero ya de poco le sirvió, pues no aspiraban anda ya en esta decepcionante copa del mundo que tuvo Lewandowski y compañía. Jan Bednare marco el único gol del partido con el que Polonia se despide del mundial

SENEGAL 0 - 1 COLOMBIA

Colombia is coming from less to more in this tournamente and against Senegal they showed the dominant gamestyle we are used to see them play, they didn´t allow the Africans to do their part and be competitive on this game. Senegal tried and tried but they couldn´t find the formulae to score on this game, if they had, they would be in the last 16 round.

Colombia will face the powerful England in the next round but they won´t have James Rodriguez in their ranks this time because he suffered a middle size injury, leaving ann irreplaceable spot in Nestor Pekerman´s 11. Yerry Mina scored his second goal of the tournament and gave Colombia the first spot of the group.

Colombia va de menos a mas en este torneo y frente a la selección de Senegal fue dominante en su fútbol, pues no permitió que los jugadores africanos hicieran lo suyo y dominaran el encuentro. Senegal por su parte intento crear ocasiones en el encuentro pero no encontraron la formula para ganar el encuentro, situación que los hubiera colocado en los octavos de final.

Colombia enfrentara a la selección de Inglaterra en los octavos de final con la baja sensible de no contar con James Rodriguez, que se lesiono en este partido y deja un lugar irreemplazable en el 11 de Nestor Pekerman, Yerry Mina marco su segundo gol del torneo y le dio a Colombia el primer lugar de grupo.
