You Know You're Old When You Become A Godparent!
Godparents also known as ninang/ninong in my country—Philippines has been a Filipino tradition during the christening of the child.
Just before my friend gave birth to her first child, she asked us to be the godparents. Everyone agreed with it, so excited for the awaited christening. I can't believe I'll be a godparent! I'm not even responsible enough.
But, despite those thoughts, it was my pleasure being invited as one of the ninangs not minding the responsibilities if I become one
responsibilities like giving gifts on birthdays, christmas and whatsoever.
The christening day had come and there I learned that being a godparent is not an easy job. It has a big role in the life of a child, taking an interest in the childs upbringing and personal development. Whatever happen to the parents, it is the godparent's responsibility to take care of the child.
Now I can feel the struggles of my very own ninongs and ninangs on christmas days!
What I can say is that, its not about the gifts you give, its about how you influence the child in the future.
