The story behind its creation has traveled the world to the point of becoming one of the most widespread urban legends ... It is said that in the 1970s there was a 14-year-old girl who was in the terminal stage of oral cancer. The doctors had already pulled all the hopes of the family in relation to the cure of the girl, so the mother of the girl, Ikaka Shimizu, desperate, went to all churches and cults, but not getting results began in the occult and satanism, introduced his daughter to the devil to cure her and made him a promise to make a mark that was famous all over the world, the devil fulfilled his part and the mother also. Created Hello Kitty.

The word "Hello" in English means hello, and the word "Kitty" of Chinese origin means demon, so Hello kitty would mean. "Hi demon". Another curiosity is that Hello Kitty does not have mouth due to the case of cancer in the mouth of the daughter of its designer. Another fact is that several satanic tattooed Kitty in the skin and even circulate videos of black masses with the image of the kitten that some call "the daughter of the devil".

There are few data about the biography of the designer and was strange her disappearance of the company a year later.

The character has also been used in other circumstances that have nothing to do with the world of children, in 1999 in Hong Kong, a brutal murder took place that they called the Hello Kitty Murder. The popular name of the case was because the murderers hid the victim's head on a Hello Kitty doll after beheaded.

In August 2007, Thai policemen who had committed minor infractions such as late arrival or parking in undue areas were forced to wear Hello Kitty bracelets for several days as punishment.

Also in that same year, a famous Colombian drug trafficker was arrested, who, besides having an important collection of objects and clothes of the kitten, used the image of the Japanese brand to send coded messages to his contacts through his email.
