My first "Life Model Shoot"steemCreated with Sketch.

Wow!
OK some background first. I am an artist. I am 40 years old. I have done life drawing classes, worked with life drawing models etc so I am very comfortable around naked people. So when I say I was totally panicking about my first life model photo shoot you can understand what a different experience this was for me. I AM AN ARTIST NOT A PHOTOGRAPHER! :-)

I had never met the model before, my only contact with her was online. I had never done a model shoot before. I had never personally instructed the model on what to do. I was freaking out!

For the sake on anonymity we will call her Kelly. Kelly was totally professional about the whole deal.

Her relaxed attitude quickly made me at ease. Ok so that's a lie, but only a little one. I was still freaking out lol. But I can honestly say that if she wasn't so calm and collected I would never have gotten through the shoot. Being a model and being a photographer is a lot harder than I had thought!

We quickly started working well together and that was totally because of her. I cannot thank Kelly enough. I think the hardest part for me was instructing her on what pose to take or what article of clothing to change. It just wasn't natural to me. It's hard to explain. Try imagining you just met this person for the first time, you don't know them and you are telling them to get undressed but in a certain way. It really is an odd thing to do. SO WHY DID I DO IT?

  1. I have always wanted to give it a go.
  2. I now have hundreds of my OWN images to work from. No more paying for material.
  3. The biggest thing was the anxiety factor. That has been a huge issue for me in recent years and always made me put this aside. Not today! :-)

I know I said I have hundreds of images but I need to stick to the agreement I made with Kelly and not show her face in the original pictures. So I chose a couple of the nicer pics where you can't see her face.

Just a fun little story to bring me back into the world of steemit! Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for reading!

I would be nervous too, 😅 it may be your first model photoshoot, but they look awesome. Just the 2 pictures show great poses, they do show your artirst drawing skills background experience. I'm sure your Kelly pictures will serve well for your drawings reference, nice job
