Unexpected and Unforgettable Early Christmas Presents
When I woke up yesterday morning, my husband told me that our television is not functioning anymore, and it's totally broken. I was a bit sad because watching shows and teleserye on TV is one of my recreation at home after doing some household chores. And I surely know that we cannot buy a new one as soon as possible. So I just ignore it. I gave up because it's impossible to buy a new one immediately. And also for the fact that we have other priorities to take care of.
When my daughter woke up and knew the television was broken she was so sad for us too. Especially for me because her father has a portable TV he can use in the store. After having our breakfast, she told me to come to her room. She was searching for some smart TV on the internet. And then she asked me and her father to go with her at the mall so we can canvass some good quality but cheaper TV. I declined because for me it's not really important but she insisted. I couldn't do anything but go with her, so does her father. Because we don't want her to get upset too.
At the mall, she took me to a hair salon first. I remember telling her that I need to have a haircut, she also wants to make her hair shorter. She said it's a new year, so she wants to change something too.
After that, she took me and her father out for lunch. Everything was so delicious. We all had a happy tummy after eating.
She took us to Hukad Restaurant which is also inside the mall. This restaurant served Filipino dishes. Her father was so happy with the food too.
We ordered Calamares. This dish is a breaded fried squid. Actually @tegoshei cannot eat this because she is allergic to seafood. But she knows that I and her father like it, so she ordered.
Another dish that he had was pork barbecue with atchara. It is super tasty with a bit of sweet taste.
This is a very famous Filipino dessert. It is called halo-halo. Halo-halo translate to "mix-mix" in English. So far, this was the best halo-halo I have ever tasted. The shaved ice was so milky and creamy.
After lunch, we went to the appliance center to see some television. I was really surprised because as far as I know we will only go there to canvass so can have the idea for how much we are going to save. But to my surprise, she bought the smart TV for us right then. And guess what? the money she spent for the television is from her earnings on Steemit.
So my fellow Steemians... I really believe Steemit is a blessing. Lucky are those who are on Steemit. Actually, my daughter promoted and shared about Steemit to the people in the appliance center. They were very amazed. They might be Steemians soon, since my daughter left her contact details to them.
But this time, I would like to tell the whole world that we are very lucky to have Shei as our daughter. Not because she provides us some material things but because she is very responsible, kind, generous, loving and a God-fearing daughter. She always sacrifices everything for her loved ones... not just for us her parents but also to other family members and relatives as long as she can.
Everytime she receives blessings, she will surely share them to others too because that's what we taught her too. We are really, really PROUD of her because we see a good reflection on how we nurture and raised her. We've been through a lot of struggles both in finances and health. She graduated college with full of struggles, yet she's an achiever.
After her graduation and after she got a job, she told us especially her father to relax and just rest from work and she will be the one who will provide for the family. She saw how we strived hard before... but we did not expect she will do the same now. Although we don't expect anything bigger than this, Yes, as family, it is normal to help each other. But the most that touches my heart and make me super, super proud and grateful is her devotion and her love for us.
And now, all I wish for her and prayed for is that one day she can find her own happiness. I mean she will love somebody who will truly love her too and can have her own family before I become too old. Ha ha ha I know she will not like this idea.
Oh, before I end up my story... it's not only the television she gave us now but also the stove because our old one was damaged too. She gave us her last money which was intended for her registration for the upcoming Otakufest, but again, she sacrificed it for the stove. That is how much she value her family. But co-Steemians, it doesn't mean that we are depending on her alone. We are still helping each other but the great part iis from Shei.
I hope that what I am sharing now can inspire you too.
Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year to everyone!
