Introducing Ask SteemIt Questions

in #blog7 years ago

Typically, this account would be asking you some questions to answer, but we are going to mix it up once in awhile and let you ask fellow Steemians questions about SteemIt , or any other subject you've always wanted an answer to!

Hopefully, the questions can be even answered by AskSteem the search engine and of course from other Steemians. So on that note feel free to ask the questions you've wanted to know about SteemIt ,or some other subject!

How would this work vs just posting in #asksteemit?

Also is normal to coat myself in oil and flop around my kitchen floor pretending I'm a slug? Thanks

Not sure there is something called #asksteemit .

Also is normal to coat myself in oil and flop around my kitchen floor pretending I'm a slug? Thanks

You are a slug ! :)

So I'll give this a go.

What is the number one thing you look at when considering if you want to follow someone or not. What draws you to a post or person and convinces you that they are worth adding to your feed?

And I've always wanted to know What the Ultimate Question to the Ultimate Answer to Life The Universe and Everything truly was.

Ah, great question. I actually like your avatar. That drew me in a bit. Yes, the whole, " Should I follow or should I not" is def. an interesting one. I suppose it all comes to if the person is interested in the content.

Ahhh... but there's the rub. Getting eyes to your content in the first place... Increasing engagement with people who otherwise would never see your feed right? That's the aim.

Is it the right approach to go out and look for other people's blogs and make comments on their posts, hoping to develop some engagement through what they have going on and hope that engaging on their blog brings them back to your own eventually?

But some of the most interesting people to engage with get 200 comments on a post, so wading through those looking for something worthy of responding to can get old.

So where are the dolphins and orcas and whales going looking for new content that interests them? Are they just like me? Going to the Hot and Trending lists? Or do they not bother to look for new content at all? Do they go to their wallet to see who transferred them 0.01 SBD with a link to a post? (I've tried it a couple of times, if we're being honest)

So I guess the follow up question is, how do you get those eyes to your own content in order to create the possibility of a follow? What motivates a "power user" to spend time with the minnows?

Thanks for your time and consideration!!

Oh, forgot to mention, the avatar is the logo for the Nashville Predators NHL hockey team. Hometown favorites, and my son's obsession. Haha. Glad you like it.

Could spam and other abuse kill steemit before it goes viral?

I think there is a danger, but the community has been taking some action to reduce these issues.
