Diary of a Founder: Fuzzy Beginnings

"What do you want to do next?"
"Well... maybe start my own thing?"

At what point does one become a founder of a company? For some, perhaps, this line is sharp and obvious - when they quit their day job, raise money for the first time or register their LLC. But for me, the line is fuzzy.

You see, I'm currently working on an idea that I had months ago. I've been working on it off and on, but hadn't fully committed. Due to some shifting in my career and personal life, it looks like I may soon have the chance to spend a lot more time on it. I won't be quitting my job just yet, and I'm ages away from being ready to raise money or register for an LLC, but as each day passes, the possibility that I'm really doing this thing becomes more and more real. It's exciting and scary all at the same time, and I can't wait to see how it all unfolds.
