My laptop gave me the terrible black screen of death. I haven't been able to blog because my computer would not load up. I had to purchase a new laptop, but I am glad to be back! Thank God for two day shipping! I guess sometimes you have to say out with the old and in with the new!
switch to linux. free and open source, and failure rate is lower than Micro$oft.
bodhi is pretty to look at. ubuntu is pretty easy to get used to if you're new to linux.
the people who write viruses are usually using linux, so there are fewer viruses for linux.
linux isn't near as user friendly and what do you mean by lower failure rate? Microsoft is pretty simple and straight forward and most computer deaths are related to hardware failure which doesn't have much to do with microsoft. Virus' are also super easy to avoid with good internet habits.

Hello @bosssarah. Have you let a computer technician check your old laptop? It's really hard not have a laptop but it is harder if there's no spare money to have it check or even to buy new one. hihi ;)
Nah, I thought about having it looked at, but the last one was getting kind of worn out. The down arrow was completely missing. My husband passed that one down to me, so I think I got some good years out of it being that it was second hand. I really needed a new laptop, so I went ahead and splurged a little. It is hard at times for me to spend that kind of money because I'm kind of a tight wad, but I had pushed it off for a long time and decided to treat myself.
I like that backlight in the keyboard. It's pretty cool. I remember I have also that one here at my laptop but when my keyboard was damaged I have it changed with another keyboard without a backlight. Now, not only the backlight is gone but as well as the numeric key pad on its right portion. ;)
Thanks! Some of my keys on my old keyboard were swapped out to keys that didn't even match the button lol. It can be frustrating when it starts falling apart.
That's exactly what happened to me too.. I allowed the technician to bought the proper keyboard for my laptop only to find out he got another model. Since I badly needed my laptop, I agreed that he assembled it even it is different from the original. ;)
Oh no, I hate to hear that. Maybe one day you will be able to get a new computer too.
Did you figure out what was wrong with the old one? Might have been fixable. In anycase I find a new computer to be super satsifying and comfortable. Hope it's running good for you and welcome back!
Nah! I knew it was time for a new one and had been holding out buying one. I feel like it may just be extra money to fix it. My husband wants to destroy it for fun. I am kind of torn. I don't want it to end up in the wrong hands because of the info on it. My hoarder side wants to just keep it lol. My other side says it might be best to destroy it, so that way the info on it cannot be accessed.
If you unscrew the bottom u can take out the harddrive and then destroy the laptop. There's only a couple case screws and then it just pops out after that.
Is there any way to get stuff off of the hard drive?
You could format the hdd and it'd erase it but using the right programs it could probably be recovered. Truly absolutely deleting the information forever i'm not sure besides maybe completely destroying it.
Sounds so complicated... I'm tech illiterate lol.
