RE: Sometimes I Laugh

It is holding in there because this platform has the most liquidity of any of the other blockchain social media offerings but when people have 5000 or 10000 followers and there is maybe 20 or 30 upvotes and a few comments that is getting pretty thin. And as always most of the engagement is from people who are also content creators. There is almost no pure viewers just on here to consume content. It has always been like that. Everyone is a content creator here and unfortunately the platform doesn't really pay for true engagement like YouTube's algorithm provides. Obvious advantages and disadvantages but there isn't one person on the entire platform that can actually earn a living off creating content here without injecting like $50,000 - $100,000. That just isn't good for a site that has an SEO funnel this large. The mechanism as a whole has a lot of potential but for 3+ years it has always been a miss for the most part.

Yeah, I think with dapps like Steemmonsters and nextcolony they should really be upping the price but I don't know how much they inject back into the ecosystem. I just spent $20 in cash on 10 packs of their cards but I doubt they are using that to buy more Steem.

On Whaleshares I just started to put up my affiliate link for Amazon and have pledged to buy WLS with 75% of what I make and reward that back to people who use the link to buy their shit. There has only been 2 ebooks sold so far but the woman who bought them got 269 WLS for doing it.

I did a post here about it because I know there are some people on here that have Whaleshares accounts and why not get some free tokens if you are shopping anyhow?

It is a good idea. Yeah with SteemMonsters they sort of got burned raising money in STEEM previously and then holding it and the price just imploding so now they probably just take the money.
I think there are some big whales trying to make some power plays right now with some of the price bumps we have seen with STEEM but I have done the math. STEEM would actually have to get to $0.01 and then I would inject $10,000 into it to feel like I had an real influence here. Otherwise I would have to inject too much money without enough influence on the reward pool. The inflation situation here will be a big problem for a long time so it is hard to counter act that.
