Penang Hawker Centre

Penang has lots of hawker centre that sells delicious food. Some Penang hawker centre are open in the morning , some afternoon and some at night. Morning hawker food mostly sells dim sum and some light food. Afternoon and night hawker food mostly sells the same. Some night hawker centre sells food until very late. People will go there to have supper.

That day my parents took me to have supper. We ordered Cerithidea obtusa. Most people don't call it Cerithidea obtusa. They will call it in a special hokkian name "Balitong". To eat it we have to suck the "Balitong's" back until the tail of it came out a bit. Then we have to suck the front of it and the meat of the "Balitong" will comes out. Some people find it easy to eat but I don't. I only ate 10 of it. But it's really nice. It's a bit spicy but delicious.

We also had broiled fish. We ate it with some sauce. The fish we ate is a Stingray.


Pancakes in penang is not the same. Pancakes here are cooked with bananas, chocolate, corn and many more. I ordered banana pancakes. It's very nice. Fresh and hot.
