Take a bow Korea: Parasite & Train To Busan!
Well what can I say other than the fact that I loved these two movies. I watched Parasite on the day of the Oscars and Train to Busan few days before this. Until now perhaps I have seen maybe a couple of Korean movies. One of them was the action flick 'The Man From Nowhere.'
Train to Busan is one of my favourite zombie movies today. Something I can watch again down the road. The acting was great, scenes were well shot and the little girl gave a terrific performance.
Thoroughly enjoyed this and then I came across Parasite. WOW! Few hours later I see news of it winning 4 Oscars and setting records. As someone who loves well made movies, I loved how this movie was made. I'm not going to write about the story because everyone needs to go see this to appreciate good cinema and movie making in general.
If you are from Korea, please recommend me a couple of great movies on similar lines. I enjoy dark comedy, action and sometimes drama also. But damn, looking up some movies, Korea's Hallyuwood seems to make some great movies and has some amazing actors, directors and crew to make top movies. Bollywood needs to learn a thing or two from ya'll!
I've had some exposure to K-pop even though I don't listen to any Korean music on a regular basis. But I've heard a number of tracks over the years as some of my friends in India and abroad listen to this genre.
Overall, the movie scene has piqued my curiosity and I'm looking forward to watching Parasite again in the theatres and hopefully more Korean movies will come to India, especially my small city in a corner of my country.

I loved Train to Busan too. Hoping to catch Parasite, now that it is released in the theatres now. There are some great TV Shows but maybe not to your liking, as they are from the romance genre :P
You can try Viki.com - A site that streams asian movies and shows, including Korean. The ads are a little annoying but i remember taking a one month membership for around 65Rs that will remove these ads.
Yeah, im not big on romance genre movies for most movie nights 😜

South Korean movies you must watch - Memories of Murder (Still Bong Joon Ho's best film, even better than Parasite), The Host, Oldboy, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Lady Vengeance (the last three is a trilogy), The Handmaiden, The Wailing, The Chaser, The Good, the Bad and the Weird, Peppermint Candy. There's plenty more, but this is a good place to start!
