Montessori Children's House' Class Night 2018
Mabuhay!
For my second blog, I would like to talk about the class night for pre-school to kinder pupils which happened last January on the school I am currently working at. Hope you like it!
I was assigned as the head of the kitchen during the class night, therefore, I am in-charge of all the food that should be eaten during the whole duration of the event.
As early as 5 am, I was already at the market buying ingredients...
Fact: The current Antipolo public market is not the original one. It was just recently transferred from its original location near the tri-agora market. It was done to create a more convenient environment and experience for the buyers of the market. The stalls are now arranged properly and there is a wider passage for the people to walk.
At 7:30 I was already cooking for the merienda and lunch for the people helping in preparing for the aforementioned activity...
Children started arriving at school at about 2:30 in the afternoon... (parents are allowed only at school after the afternoon activities)
At 5:00 it's already dinner time!
After dinner, the children are now asked to prepare for their night activities..
Starting off with a bonfire...
Then, children were now asked to perform there prepared yell and cheer dance performance..
After which, they already prepared for bed and slept at 9:30 in the evening...
Having these kinds of activities are exhausting not only for the children but also for the people behind it. Despite this, it gives knowledge and experience to children as early as their age, especially on the part of doing things on your own without the help of your parents. As the montessorian motto implies, "Help me to help myself, so that I could be of help to others".
Activities like this represent the montessorian way of teaching. It also helps children en vibe this kind of mindset of asking for help to help yourself so that you could be able to help other people.
That's it for my second blog! Hope you liked it! Follow me for more of my blogs.
