An Unforgettable Tying of Knots

in #blog7 years ago

Weddings in the Philippines has always been expensive and tiring regardless of whether or not it is a church wedding, garden wedding, or even a wedding by officated by a judge. The couple needs to think about everything ahead of time to avoid unwanted circumstances. There are even last minute decisions and actions that need to be taken to avoid wedding disasters.

They say, no wedding is perfect -- but every wedding is worth remembering. The wedding I attended last January 18 is one of those weddings I will never forget, aside from the fact that it rained the evening, it was the first wedding Kenneth (my boyfriend) and I attended.

It was the wedding of Kenneth's brother. He was so excited that he wants me to attend it too despite the fact that I will be travelling more than 100km up in the air.

It was a sweet gesture from him and his family to witness a grand ceremony.

Anyway, too much of that, let us talk to what happened in the wedding, the things I saw, and how the couple expressed their love with each other in a sea of people.

The wedding occured in one of the beach resorts in Amlan, Negros Oriental. It is a thirty minute travel from Dumaguete City.
It was suppose to start at 3:30 in the afternoon but it was past 4 when the guests arrived.

A touch of rustic, asian, and western wedding theme

I must say, and you can see that the theme is rustic with the colors of champagne white and dark blue.

In this table setting, I love how the table runners matched with the setup they put on the chairs. In few minutes after I took this photo, there were even real flowers and fresh that were put on the table adding vibrant colors.

Meanwhile on the venue, since it was not a church wedding because the supposed to-be officiating minister changed his mind just few days before the wedding, it was held on the reception area as well.

Anyway, it was not a bad thing at all because the hall was entricately decorated with fresh small white flowers and verses from the Bible describing what love is.

Unfortunately the hall can only accomodate a number of guests that is why some of the well-wishes stayed outside while witnessing the heartfelt ceremony.

And this is the reception that was well-decorated. It seemed to be like the photos I see online except that those were taken somewhere in Asia. This was taken by the way two hours before the wedding ceremony.

Knowledge in make-up comes handy!

I actually insisted on putting my own makeup since I am just another well-wisher on the wedding. I am not even related by blood by the lovely couple. It also helps me in saving more money because hiring a makeup artist is pretty expensive.

I actually look okay and felt okay with how I look not until someone from the side of the bride insisted that I should have the makeup artist put makeup on my face instead because I look like a disaster. I really wanted to tell her that she looks more like what she was telling me. I should have also gave her a mirror so that she could reflect on her words.

I also met other family friends of my boyfriend. I would never forget this lady who mentioned to us about Kenneth's ex-girlfriend. Deep inside I really am so pissed off but I tried to keep my cool. She even insisted that Kenneth and I should marry at the age of thirty and up. I wanted to snap her neck in an instant but I told her that " if he [Kenneth] has that intention,I better find someone else instead. I do not like to wait and I cannot imagine myself old and my kids are just starting to learn how to run away from me".

I hate it when I hear those things from different people. Like hello, they should mind their own lives! And they married at young age, who are them to preach me? I also feel bad whenever they tell me that he will soon become a doctor. They make it sound like I am hindering him to become one and I am nobody compared to him. I also added that it would be just easy to find someone else since I know for a fact that I am a lovable and there are qualities that would make someone marry me.

Well, too much of my drama! Here comes the bride!

Everyone inside the wedding venue got teary-eyed while the bride was walking along the isle. It meant really something great to give everyone such a wonderful emotion.

Ate Ex would be the last child who got married in their family and Kuya Kim is the first one to marry. It was even more emotional when they shared their vows to each other.

While the bride was walking down the isle, my boyfriend and his brother were playing songs. Kenneth was playing the violin while John David was playing the cello. There rendition for Ed Sheeran's perfect was really amazing.

I fell in love more with my future doctor and husband.

Wedding receptions would not be complete without food right? Well here are those that captured my heart.

I really love how the fruits were carefully carved/sliced. It made me want to eat them at the same time not eat then because they just look so beautiful.

The cake, cupcakes, and other desserts were even baked and prepared meticulously. It was said to have been prepared by one of Ate Ex's friends. I love the chocolate fountain (not seen in the picture) so much.

Food and Celebration

Almost two hundred people were at the venue. There were a lot of wonderful viands that were serve. There were also five lechon baboy [roasted pig] which were roasted perfectly.

When the wedding ceremony was over, I was a bit scared that it would rain and it really did after we had dinner. The program has not yet ended but we could not do anything about it. The only thing we bore in our minds is that finally, this lovely couple got married.

I hope and pray that they will become a prosperous couple. I also hope and pray that next time I will blog about weddings, the first one I will feature after will be mine. I would love to telecast it over d.live then. A steemit themed wedding would not be a bad idea right?

Anyway, I really enjoyed my stay in Dumaguete and our short vacation in Siquijor as well. I wanted to write everytime we visit a nice place but the signal for my mobile data is not that strong. And I am so dead-tired from our continuous trip but I really wish I could share it to all of you soon.

I wish you a wonderful weekday ahead! Have a great day.
