Shallow Rivers

The rain has FINALLY stopped, and I saw a nearly full moon on a perfectly clear night:

That's a stark contrast to the 3-inch river that was running down my street last night during the last big rain of February 2018:

In fact, this was the wettest February EVER in the DFW area:

It was enough to end a multi-year drought in the area. Of course the first winter here is record setting. . . I bring the rain!

Deep Thoughts

I've started weekly purchases of BTC, ETH, BCH, and LTC in my Coinbase account. I don't have a particular view on the market at this time, but I know that:

(a) my Explore allocation has gotten too low relative to Cash
(b) the next couple months will likely be very volatile
(c) I have no idea which cryptocurrency will "win" in the end

I've chosen those 4 because they're easy to set and forget in Coinbase, which is inline with my philosophy of keeping investment actions as automatic and dispassionate as possible. Now it remains to be seen if market moves dwarf my rebalancing efforts.

Bonus Thoughts

While I was doing today's workout, I realized that beyond the strength/energy/stamina goal I originally set, I don't have any other fitness objectives. And then I realized what has been missing. . . competition. One year ago, I was a student in the same karate school in Hawaii as my daughter, learning all the same kata and kumite techniques and preparing for regular tournaments. After moving to Texas, I stopped training and competing since the new style (Wado) was significantly different from the old style (Gojuryu). I'm an old dog, wasn't interested in learning new tricks!

Now that my daughter is getting into competitive tennis, I've found myself wanting to play. I took a few lessons a while ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, and my local recreation center has an adult league. I'll obviously never be a PTA-ranked player, but joining the league would definitely be a healthy way to scratch that competitive itch.

I think we're going to become a tennis family very soon! 🎾

really personally I love the rain, a night with a good tea and a good company is wonderful, but of course everything has its limit, sometimes it becomes something dangerous and even anguishing! Well, at least it stopped! Oh and by the way the moon was in its maximum expression, very beautiful and it becomes something romantic haha with respect to tennis let me tell you that the only experience I have about it is what I have seen on TV
