Two Different Reactions for Watching over My Bicycle in Ta Keo

in #blog6 years ago

Cambodia is a really soulful and beautiful country which has a heartbreaking past. I have been in Cambodia for enough time to learn about their local life and way of behaviour

I do not want to write about Cambodia's recent history. But if you want to feel queasy, you can google about this country's recent history. I really had a nervous breakdown in there when I talked with local young people working in different jobs in town centers about their grandparents. They have a lot to talk and there are real life lessons which young generations on the west should take.

I was riding my rented bicycle in Angkor Wat around Ta Keo. I needed to go to the toilet. I stopped by two spots urgently for toilet. I want to tell you about beautiful reactions which I came across.

Number 1 - I saw an old house next to a temple. I stopped here and suddenly a little kid started to run towards me with his 9 newborn dogs. :) This was one of the cutest scenes which I still remember. I asked him for a toilet but he did not normally understand. Then I took some photos him and his friendy dogs. Then his mother came and started to talk in Cambodian. I asked to buy a bottle of water if she had and she brought some to me for free. I said 'Arkoun' which means 'Thank you' in Cambodian and left there with smiling faces. They were waving their hands behind me.

Number 2 - A young Cambodian friend walked towards me in a parking lot. He asked for 4000 Cambodian Riels(0.25 $) for parking my bicycle there. I answered that I do not have that money. Then he said 'OK, no problem'. I found a nontoilet under a tree to complete my mission :) Then I returned to take my bicycle. He was waiting there for my bicycle and I thanked him with a warm smile. He smiled back to me and I could not stop myself to give him some money, because he was waiting. It was not a big amount for me, just 2 dollars but he was really happy and I left this place with swearing to capitalist lies of the global world. This is one of the moments which I felt sad for our humanity. I truly wish he will have a great future as he wish for himself.
