The answer is YES We can!
HOW?
first let's count $50 in rupiah.
$50 is around Rp.683,105.00 (in Indonesia is a lot)
As you can see, $50 if converted into rupiah becomes a lot.
yes, in Indonesia that much money is very valuable and a lot. in Indonesia you can live a day using only under $ 1 around Rp.13,662.10 (only money for food and drink, other costs not included). if you visit Indonesia using a mediocre fund and you meet the two shops below then congratulations you can live in peace (this is not a sponsor).
In both stores you can buy goods at cheap prices and fit the standard Indonesian prices. It is different from if you buy goods at a private shop. at individual stalls, sometimes if you cannot speak Indonesian and buy goods, the seller will give a more expensive price than the standard price. because for Indonesian people get buyers from outside Indonesia is a rare opportunity to get profit. so if you are not a native Indonesian and cannot speak Indonesian then, I suggest you buy at the store that I have mentioned.
for example: if you buy indomie in both stores you will get a price in the range of $ 0.182500 - $ 0.255500 or Rp.2500 - Rp.3500 / pack. however, if you buy at an individual stall the price can be up to double the original price. (twice the normal price is expensive for Indonesians).
so what is your total if you only consume indomie for a month?
let's count it. by buying indomie for Rp. 2,500 and you eat 2 meals a day. then you will get a price of Rp.5000 around $0.365000.
Assume 1 month = 30 days, $0.365000 times 30 is $10.95.
it's the price if you only consume indomie. how about the drink? You can drink refill mineral water with the price of Rp.5000 or $0.365000 / gallon.
just eating noodles isn't filling?
add rice !. You can buy 5kg of rice at a price of around Rp.61000 or $4.45.
How about the snack?
in the two shops above there are lots of snacks with prices around Rp.10000 or $0.730000 / snack.
let's count everything!
$ 10.95 + $ 0.365000 + $ 4.45 + ($ 0.730000 * 30) = $ 37,665
the remaining $ 50 - $ 37,665 = $ 12,335
You still have $ 12,335 left!
So in conclusion, Indonesians with lower middle income can live on just $ 50.
I hope you can imagine how to live in Indonesia with this post that I made. if you have an opinion please leave a comment and if it helps please upvote.
That is all and thank you.
