I Stopped Using Plastic Straws. YOU Should, Too. Here's Why...
As a person who grew up near the sea, I have seen (we all do) the damages a plastic can do to the environment. Tons and tons of plastics reach our oceans every day. It’s been a problem ever since plastic was invented.
I have seen animals ingest plastic bags and died. Sea turtles have mistaken plastic bags for jellyfish.
One plastic item that I really HATE are drinking straws! A short-lived useless tool, used only once, then thrown into the garbage and sometimes ends up in the ocean.
In the US alone, they are using over 500,000,000 plastic straws every day. How much more if you add the rest of the world? Plastic straws take hundreds of years to decompose.
Since 2013, I have taken action not to use plastic straws.
If it’s really your thing to use straws, you can invest in a reusable one. There are stainless steel straws, bamboo straws, paper or even glass where you can wash them and use it on another day. In that way, you can help save the environment.

Check out this poor innocent sea turtle with a plastic straw in its nostril.

This video shows how the most useless item can cause destruction when it ends up in our oceans.

FYI: 5 countries that dump more plastic into the oceans than the rest of the world combined...

I feel sad for the animals who get victimized by our own doing. :( they don't have an idea and they don't deserve experiencing pain just because of our irresponsibility. Thanks for raising awareness.
We should be aware on the current situation of our planet. One day, our children's children can only see sea turtles on the books because they are already extinct.
