TIL how to download Youtube Playlists

in #blog4 years ago

A little side story. So yesterday my Father gave me a piece of paper and asked me to download the songs he wrote on the paper. Easy task I know but the thing here was that there was no title of songs in there but rather only the name of the 'artists/singers'. Apparently I have to download some of their popular songs.

Since I don't know the songs of some of the artists/singers written on there (probably artists from the 1960s-1990s), I had to consult my good old friend Youtube to check them out. Fortunately I was able to immediately find a playlist of some of the artists in there but the problem is that I don't know how to download a Youtube Playlist and that's again when I consulted my good old friend Google about how to download a Youtube Playlist.

Long story short, after minutes of searching for a tool that lets you download Youtube Playlists for FREE of course and one that does not make you download an .exe file for their app (I don't like downloading apps I don't even know I can trust on my computer), I found one and it is called Loader.to or https://loader.to/ .

Pretty straight-forward really, all you have to do is copy-paste the URL of the Youtube Playlist you want downloader. Then the format (as for me since I want it converted to .mp3 I have chosen MP3). There are other formats too for MP3 and even Video playlists.

Lastly, the Playlist order (or the video order on the Youtube Playlist). Unfortunately though the maximum limit is only 20 on Loader.to. So if a playlist has 50 Videos, then one needs to download first 1-21, then 22-42, then 43-50.

A hassle I know that's why after I downloaded 3 or 4 artists and doing the same thing over and over again, I finally cave in and downloaded a .exe or app that is really for downloading Youtube Playlist. I did install it on my netbook rather than on my desktop just to be safe. It did not trigger my anti-virus though so it's probably safe.

The app is called 'ByClickDownloader'. Pretty awesome app if you ask me and does what is intended. Only downside that I didn't notice yesterday was that it's running on a 1 FREE DAY TRIAL basis. Lol So after which, you get this:

Anyways, there are probably other more efficient tools out there for downloading Youtube Playlists so do let me know if you know of one too that is of course FREE of charge. :)
