Good morning everyone! 👋

I hope you've all been well! This week has been the hardest week of the year so far in regards to work.

Saturday was hell you can expect my next hospitality blog to be another lengthy tale of woe and frustration - but we survived it in the end!

So be on the lookout for that! 👌

The Elephant in the Room

I know it has been a few days since my last upload, apologies for the short time away. To tell you the truth I have not been feeling too well. 😟

It might sound corny, but recent events have put me in a sort of suppressed state.

I have many friends in New Zealand some of them are from Christchurch. Thankfully none of them were harmed, actually that might be the only thing worth being grateful for.

I feel as though I have been battling with some grief, so this trip out to Laughlin NV to celebrate Caroline's birthday will do us both the world of good.

Hey, did you hear?

I am the Luckiest Man Alive!

At least that's what the casinos want me to believe. I know the truth though. 😅

I've played Blackjack only once and Never Again

I'm not lying when I tell you that the dealer got 21 3 times in a row! In 45 seconds I lost $60.00, and I left feeling shell shocked. Not a good first experience.

I probably would of had better luck putting my money into Bitconnect 🤣 (whaddamigunnado?!)

Not gamble for a start

I don't know about you but throwing my money into a pit isn't my favorite way to celebrate a birthday, nor is it Caroline's - so, Laughlin today will be a day of outdoor adventure

A day of celebration

First thing's first, the most important meal of the day

  • Coffee

(whoa that photo is gigantic)

Don't tell my doctor I said that. 😅 But seriously we all know its true. Coffee is love. Coffee is life. 🍵😁

Next

  • Walking the doggos!

(This happy boy is Alex, the nicest golden retriever I've ever met. He belongs to my mother-in-law.)

(This is my little guy, Tod. He is best friends with Alex, they love hanging out with each other - even if it is only once every couple of months.)

Up next

A nice quaint little place

I got the Country fried steak w/ scrambled eggs

Caroline got a cheddar bacon waffle with 'bacon jam'. Basically bacon in maple syrup. A decadent birthday breakfast!

It was a fun time eating and catching up with family.

  • Finally, for the adventure!

Today we're heading out to

Grapevine Canyon Nevada!

Here is an amazing bit of Navada country with some incredible history.

Apparently there are dozens and dozens of Native American 'petroglyphs' on the canyon walls that have been there for hundreds of years, but only found recently.

I can't wait to see these in person!

I love these preserved snapshots of times long past as they all tell a story. There are many hiking trails into and out of the canyon which should keep us busy all day!

It's only a short drive which is nice.

Today is going to be geat!

We like to go adventuring to commemorate our milestone events. We spent our anniversary in San Francisco exploring it for the first time, and for my birthday we went to Hollywood, just to see it.

The photos we take seem to have more sentimental value when there's a story behind it.

Thanks everyone, and happy birthday again to my amazing wife @kejira

(She didnt want me taking a photo of her, lol so I won't.)

Take care everyone, I'll talk to you later!
