Experience

You know.. those moments when the existence itself breaks the fourth wall and starts talking to you directly? And you just go like - wow - Neo style? Yeah. That! I love that. And, no, you're not required to be on any substances for that. Just your own weird-ass brain.

I've been ugly-crying my eyes out today. In the best possible sense.

I've been hungering, itching, aching for the most epic love story ever since.. forever. Always looking for something I couldn't describe, just knowing I'd recognize it when I see it. Lo, and behold - it got delivered - in an audio-book form of "This Is How You Lose the Time War" by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone.

I complained to a friend rather recently that lately I only tend to get disappointed in books and that it was hard to know if the book will live up to my expectations, and that I didn't want to waste my time and emotional capacity on the ones that would only let me down. This one though, boy did it not only live up to my expectations.. THIS is what I had been looking for and craving all along. It is real, it exists, it has a title.

This is like savoring a treat, one that you see first, you expect it to be delicious, you can almost taste it before even touching it and then the reality of the taste of the treat exceeds your expectations. I knew this was going to be it as soon as I saw the title and, yes, I did, again, judge the book by its cover, yet it did not disappoint! It did not disappoint at all.

Swooning.
