The reason most people are not successful the gamer analogy

in #blog4 years ago

If you ever played games like skyrim you know that the game gives you a bunch of quest. Some are main quests others are side quests. This is the same in life. The big difference is that in games you always get XP and level up and become stronger no matter what you do. This is not the case in real life most things won't give you any XP and some are taking xp from you.

Only the main quests in live will bring you to the next level.

The problem is that you cannot skip most side quests. Like when you wake up the first thing you do is washing shaving teeth brushing etc.. So when you cannot skip them you need to develop an routine to get this tings done so efficient as possible. Other side quests as relaxing are necessary until you want to burn out some day but there is a big difference in watching one episode or watching the whole season. Watching the whole season is just wasting time on a side quest with little to zero benefits.

Most people on this planet are doing absolutely nothing but side quests. Buying things consuming things watching BS etc...

How to get out of this routine understand what is the main quest and what are side quests. Which side quests are necessary or beneficial and which are costing you XP. Once you figure that out you're life is a whole new story.

What is the main quest the purpose of life? A bunch of religions and philosophers talked a lot BS about it and thought this is a hard question no man can ever tell. The answer was and is always in clear sight but as always people won't take the easy answer because than there is no room for excuses. Some example I want to give up smoking but I don't know how it's so hard bla bla – the answer is easy don't buy cigarettes don't smoke cigarettes period. Don't bullshit yourself with this addiction myth.

Back to the point meaning of life: Evolution! Getting better in mind body and morals. We are the only species with true self awareness. This is what separates us from animals. Their goal is clear enlarge your territory get as many children as possible defend your territory and hide from your enemy or kill them. This is not our business. If it would only be reproduction we wouldn't be different from a worm. Of course you need to full fill your basic needs and nothing bad about getting children but all this are side quests.

So what is our daily main quest? Live a life in honor and dignity. Do whatever you do with pride. Doesn't matter what your job is from King to carpenter just do it the right way. It also doesn't matter in which society or in which age you live. From North Korea to Norway the main quest stays the same. So it is since the beginning of time. Absolutely nothing changed there is no difference in living today or life in the middle ages. The purpose of life is the same. Only difference today is we have more technology and things become more complex that's all.

Pride is not the deadly sin like its written in the bible, that's arrogance. Arrogance is faking pride. If you have no idea what pride is look in the nature. Watch eagles lions or wolves. Animals cannot fake pride.

So forget the chase for fake money or the chase for fake popularity pride men doesn't sell their dignity for money or stardom. This life is a test and deep inside we know for what but it's locked knowledge until we die and everyone has to pass their test by himself so if the society, religions or whole country's decide to exist in a state of degeneration this absolutely doesn't matter for you and your test. So forget the news, elections and false prophets. In the end only your actions count. What the rest of the world does should not bother you at all. Climate change? So what the burden of the earth is not on your shoulder.

Maybe one day when enough people follow the path of honor we would be able to reshape society and create a better place, which we then indeed should do, but until then we are like lone wolves completely on ourselves.
